Rogerio Guimaraes

I am the Director of Geology at ENDIAMA E.P., the national diamond company of Angola, where I oversee geological research and exploration initiatives to enhance our understanding of the region's diamond resources. I hold a Professional Master’s degree in Geology from Kyiv National University in Ukraine. With over 20 years of extensive international experience in the oil and gas industry and the diamond sector, I have developed a robust skill set that includes geological modelling, resource assessment, and project management. My professional journey has taken me across various countries, including the United Kingdom (BP), Egypt (BP), and Angola, where I have collaborated with diverse teams to tackle complex geological challenges. In Angola, I have focused on kimberlite exploration (De Beers) and production, enabling the identification and extraction of high-quality diamonds. My work involves utilizing advanced geological techniques, conducting field studies, and analyzing geological data to inform strategic exploration and mining operations decisions. Through my efforts, I strive to contribute to Angola’s position in the global diamond market while fostering sustainable practices in resource management.
