Toronto Transportation Options
Getting around Toronto
- Walking
If you’re concentrating your visit on Convention activities, our two venues (the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and Fairmont Royal York Hotel) are within a 5 minute walk from each other, and about a 5 minute walk to Union Station. Other venues where you may be visiting for meetings or events are likely to be in the downtown area and very walkable as well. Most downtown hotels are within 15 minutes walking distance.
- Ridesharing services
- Uber, Lyft, and Facedrive are ridesharing services that you can use in Toronto via their company apps
- Taxis
Toronto has a large number of licensed taxis that are easy to find, especially in the downtown area. They are metered and start with a low base fare with the final fare depending on the total distance and time travelled. You can hail a taxi on the street (taxis with their lights on the roofs on are available), or you can book a cab by calling the taxi company or by using the company's app (e.g. Beck Taxi, Co-op Cabs, and City Taxi) .
- Public transit
- The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) has easy to navigate subways, buses, and streetcars within the city. If you are planning to use public transit, you are able to purchase tickets/passes or you may simply tap your debit or credit card as you access each form of transit
- If you’re looking to travel to the outlying parts of the Greater Toronto Area, GO Transit is Ontario’s inter-regional bus and train service. GO Transit is a great way to travel through the Greater Toronto Area, whether you’re commuting to and from the convention or want to explore and tour the region with ease and convenience. GO Trains and buses depart from Union Station at regular intervals throughout the day.
- If you are coming for the Toronto airport, you may also wish to utilize the UP Express. This train travels between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Union Station every 15 minutes, taking 25 minutes for a one-way journey.

Toronto Pearson International Airport
Option 1: UP Express Train
UP Express provides fast, convenient, and stress-free connections between Pearson Airport and Downtown Toronto in only 25 minutes, with trains running every 15 minutes. Trains run directly between Union Station and Pearson Airport, with the Union Station stop connected to the MTCC (our venue) via an indoor walkway called the Skywalk.

Locating the train at Pearson Airport:
At Pearson Airport, the train can be found on the lower level of Terminal 1, right beside the Terminal Link Train. Simply follow the signs that say “Train to City,” you will eventually come to the entrance to the platform to take the UP Express downtown.
Locating the train at Union Station:
The UP Express stop at Union Station can be easily found within the interior Skywalk walkway. Access via street level on Front St, or follow signs within Union Station and for the UP Express.
Staying at an airport area hotel?
A number of Toronto “Airport” hotels have shuttles to and from Toronto Pearson International Airport available. You can find a current list by clicking the button below. If you choose to stay out of the downtown core, you are able to access these shuttles, to get you to and from the airport. You are then able to use the UP Express Train from Terminal 1 to get easily and efficiently to the MTCC.
Option 2: Public Transit
The TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) runs direct buses to Pearson Airport that connect with the subway at Kipling Station. Alternate buses exist, but this is the most direct. Should you choose to take the bus to the subway, you will then be able to take transit to your destination.
Should you be coming to the MTCC (our main venue), you would take the subway to Union Station. Union Station is just steps away from our convention and provides an indoor connection (called the Skywalk) direct to the MTCC. Union Station is also located directly across the street from the Fairmont Royal York Hotel (our second venue). Union Station boasts multiple food options and retail as well.
To ride the TTC you are able to simply tap your credit or debit card (on the subway, buses, and streetcars). An adult fare is $3.30.

Option 3: Drive/Taxi
Pearson airport offers all forms of pick up options:
- Rideshare apps (such as Uber and Lyft)
- Look for the "Rideshare" signs to find your pick up location
- Taxi companies (taxi rank available)
- Look for the designated pickup areas on the terminal curbs just outside the Arrivals area
- Limousine and town car services

- Car rental
- You’ll find car rental counters on Level 1 of the Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 parking garages
- Parking and cellphone pickup areas
- Options at all Terminals available

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport
Option 1: Free shuttle
You can access this airport via shuttle which boards on the west side of the Fairmont Royal York Hotel (where Front St & York St meet) directly across from Union Station. The shuttle departs Billy Bishop Airport every 15 minutes for free, delivering visitors between the airport and the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, to connect visitors to Union Station.

Option 2: Public Transit
The TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) runs a streetcar along Queens Quay which connects Billy Bishop Airport to Union Station. Should you choose to walk the block from the airport to the streetcar stop and take the streetcar to Union Station, you will then be able to take transit such as the subway to your final destination.
Should you be coming to the MTCC (our main venue), you would take the streetcar to Union Station and then follow the indoor connection (called the Skywalk) direct to the MTCC. Union Station is also located directly across the street from the Fairmont Royal York Hotel (our second venue). Union Station boasts multiple food options and retail as well.

Union Station: VIA Rail, Go Transit, TTC
Union Station is across the street from the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, and connected by an indoor walkway called the Skywalk to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) - our venues for PDAC 2025. VIA Rail Canada, GO Transit, and TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) all provide transportation options connected to this station, for convenient transportation option to and from the downtown core of Toronto.

Go Transit has many trains and buses leaving from Union Station. Access Union Station and then follow signs for GO Transit, reviewing screens to identify which platform to go to to access the exact train/bus you are looking for.
