Enabling Indigenous participation in Canada’s mineral sector

PDAC President Karen Rees was interviewed by Indigenous Business Report for the feature “Enabling Participation: Ottawa and the provinces roll out new funding initiatives to support Indigenous activity in the mining sector.” In the article, she highlights the potential of the Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program (ILGP) to help close gaps between government, industry and Indigenous communities by supporting Indigenous-led ownership, long term wealth creation and stronger partnerships around industrial and infrastructure projects. The piece explores how new and expanded funding tools can improve outcomes for rightsholders and stakeholders while advancing shared benefits from mineral development.
