Applicants must:

  • Work primarily in a journalistic role, such as a reporter, editor, writer, producer, host, photographer or member of a broadcast news production team.
  • Represent an established media organization, such as a newspaper, magazine, trade publication, broadcast outlet, digital publication or podcast, that regularly produces original journalistic coverage.
  • Be attending PDAC 2027 to report on the convention, mineral exploration and mining, capital markets or related topics.
  • Freelance journalists must be working on assignment for an eligible media organization or be able to demonstrate a record of relevant journalistic work.
Media accreditation is not available to individuals whose primary role is marketing, promotion, sales or other commercial activity, or to organizations whose primary function is not journalism.

This includes:
  • Organizations that primarily produce paid, sponsored or promotional interviews or content for the companies they cover.
  • Organizations that sell interview, video or other content packages to exhibitors, sponsors or delegates.
  • Marketing, public relations, branding or lead-generation agencies.
  • Corporate communications or marketing teams producing content on behalf of their organization or clients.
  • Sales, advertising and business development professionals.
  • Personal blogs.

Producing interviews, videos, podcasts or other media content does not on its own qualify an individual or organization for media accreditation. Journalism must be the primary function of the organization and the primary role of the applicant.

Personal information collected through the media accreditation process is used to assess eligibility and communicate with applicants about accreditation and related Convention activities. PDAC does not share the names or contact information of accredited individuals but may share a list of media organizations represented at the convention.
