Antoine Caté

Dr. Antoine Caté is a structural geology consultant at SRK Consulting with over 12 years of experience in academia and industry. He has worked on gold and base metal deposits across continents, engaging in projects ranging from greenfield exploration to underground and open-pit mining. In addition to his traditional geological expertise, Antoine is skilled in applying data science and machine learning to geosciences. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and presentations in economic geology and machine learning applications. Antoine co-founded Goldspot Discoveries and Geolearn, two companies that provide data science solutions to geoscientific challenges. He is a recipient of the Mountjoy Award from the Geological Association of Canada and, as part of a team, secured second place in the Integra Gold Rush Challenge. Currently, his work at SRK involves structural field investigations, 3D modeling, prospectivity and targeting projects, and the development and implementation of innovative methodologies in structural geology and mineral exploration. These methodologies include prospectivity mapping workflows and tools for automated geological logging on core images. Antoine's professional goal is to tackle geoscientific challenges in the mining industry by combining proven and new tools grounded in a strong scientific background.
