Join us in this masterclass during which we will explore the creation of a Good Neighbour Guide to foster harmonious cohabitation between mining operations and local communities. This guide, created in collaboration with neighbours and community members, helps identify potential sources of conflict and outlines strategies to mitigate their impact, ensuring a healthy and cooperative living environment. Drawing from the successful framework developed by Agnico Eagle Mines and other industry best practices, this session will provide valuable insights on building and maintaining positive relationships with community stakeholders.

Our presenters will share their unique perspectives based on different types of operations and environments:

  • An open-pit mine in a town.
  • A project in development within rural communities.
  • An underground mine located in a recreational area with numerous secondary residences and small municipalities.
  • An underground mine adjacent to a commuter neighborhood.

Additionally, presenters will propose a comprehensive roadmap for those looking to develop and implement a successful Good Neighbor Guide in their own contexts.
