Bede has been appointed as President Director of PT Sumbawa Timur Mining since March 2019 with main responsibility to develop the Hu'u Project into a world-class copper mining operation that will position Indonesia as one of the largest copper producers in the world.

Prior to his current position, Bede served as Environment, Community and Sustainability Manager, senior management and leadership role within Vale responsible for the design and delivery of environment and social impact management programs on exploration projects and operations throughout the Australia, Asia, Pacific Islands, Africa and Andean Americas.

Bede holds a Master of Environmental Economics from the University of London and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Since Bede's leadership, the Hu'u Project has achieved many achievements both in mining exploration operations and benefits received by the community around PT Sumbawa Timur Mining location in Hu'u District, West Nusa Tenggara.

This is not surprising because Bede has a long experience in the mining industry, operations planning, and sustainable development. Early in his career, Bede was with the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Quang Nagi Rural Development Program in Vietnam, as well as Regional Manager (APAC) – Environmental Service Group, Hatch Associates.
