Candice Tourville is an Omushkego Cree woman, member of Attawapiskat First Nation and proud affiliate of Taykwa Tagamou Nation (TTN). Her role as Business Development Officer for TTN is crucial in exploring viable major projects and building meaningful partnerships with proponents who understand the importance of developing equal partnerships with the Nation.
As a mother of five daughters, and herself a daughter of a residential school and 50’s scoop survivor, Candice views opportunities through the lens of a seven generation mindset and how projects can support the building of a community that is strong in culture, health, wellness, education, and prosperity. Candice works closely with Agnico Eagle for the Detour Lake Mine, Canada Nickel’s future Crawford nickel site, early and advanced exploration companies, OPG for project refurbishments within the territory, and is currently the Co-Chair of the Moose River Basin Co-Planning Committee that is reviewing opportunities for development within the Moose River Basin, a Nations led initiative where the communities will be owners of the potential assets.
