Humphrey Knight

Humphrey possesses ten years’ experience in commodity market analysis, primarily focused on the fertilizer industry helping clients better understand supply & demand, trade, costs, in addition to short- and long-term price forecasting. He led CRU’s analysis of the potash market from 2018, adding the phosphates sector to his remit in 2022, before joining CRU’s Consulting division in October 2025. Humphrey joined CRU in August 2016, initially as the Fertilizer Team’s cost analyst, from a mining and exploration geology background. He worked as a geologist at a major lead-zinc mine in the Republic of Ireland and at a gold exploration project in Mexico. He holds an MSci in Geology from Imperial College London and an MSc in Mining Geology from Camborne School of Mines (University of Exeter).
