Nick Joyce

Nick began his career in the mining industry building drill pads in the Yukon, as a summer student out of UBC in 2010. He progressed through several seasons as an exploration geologist before pursuing graduate research at Queen’s University. He then pivoted into investment banking where he gained formative experience in corporate strategy and capital markets. At BHP, he contributed to building out a global growth pipeline through strategic investments, M&A, and exploration initiatives, and later joined Hudbay with a focus on capital planning and operations strategy. He was part of the PDAC S-IMEW 2013 cohort and returned to S-IMEW in 2025 as a guest speaker.
