Rana Vig has over 35 years of business experience and has played a key role in launching and scaling multiple ventures across private and public markets. He has been involved with publicly traded companies since 2010 and brings extensive experience in corporate restructuring, strategic transactions, and resource development.
From 2011 to 2016, Mr. Vig served as President of Musgrove Minerals, an Idaho-focused gold & copper exploration company. From 2013 to 2016, he was Chairman & CEO of Continental Precious Minerals Inc., a TSX senior board listed exploration company focused on advancing one of the world’s largest uranium deposits located in Sweden.
A seasoned entrepreneur with the ability to identify emerging market opportunities, Mr. Vig became CEO of Lead Ventures in 2018 and led its restructuring through the acquisition of Curaleaf Holdings Inc., a consumer-focused, regulated products company. That transaction closed a $520 million financing, which at the time ranked among one of the largest financings completed by a Canadian issuer. Shortly thereafter, he assumed leadership of Rockbridge Resources, a distressed oil & gas issuer, and oversaw its restructuring through the acquisition of Harvest Health & Recreation, a multi-jurisdiction regulated products company. That transaction closed a $300 million financing, ranking among the largest sector financings of 2018.
Believing that the mining industry — and gold in particular — was on the cusp of a new commodities super cycle, Mr. Vig turned his attention to his current venture, Blue Lagoon Resources. Under his leadership, the Company became one of only 9 exploration companies in British Columbia to receive a full mining permit in the past decade and has since commenced gold production. In November 2017, Mr. Vig was invited to the Canadian Senate to receive the Senate 150th Anniversary Medal, an honour awarded to Canadians who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to their communities.
