Toronto, Canada

Sabrina Dias, P.Eng, MES, CDI.D, is the Founder and CEO of SOOP Strategies Inc., a boutique consulting firm specializing in mining and sustainable development. With 25 years of experience working across exploration, development, and operations, Sabrina is pursuing her vision of a resource development sector where sustainability is intentionally integrated throughout business and operations (with the same rigour as Health and Safety), achieved with pragmatism, foresight, and kindness. She applies practical strategies that build trust and reduce risk, helping her clients to become the company of choice by their stakeholders. Sabrina is the published author of Integrating Sustainability into Major Projects: Best Practices and Tools for Project Teams (Wiley, 2020), the only practical guide of its kind designed to support real-world mining and major project teams, and the 2021 recipient of the CIM Excellence in Sustainable Development Award. A Ceramic Engineer with a Master's in Environmental Studies, she brings deep technical expertise in socio-economic impact assessment, community relations, risk management, and strategic planning for projects ranging from multi-billion-dollar megaprojects to early-stage juniors. Her international experience spans Madagascar, Tanzania, Europe, the Americas, and the Pacific Islands. She founded SOOP Strategies in 2013 as a values-driven firm rooted in kindness, excellence, and practical problem-solving—supporting clients as they build trust, meet investor expectations, and foster strong, respectful partnerships with local communities and Rightsholders. SOOP Strategies serves clients across the mining sector, including explorers and operators, investment firms, service providers and suppliers. SOOP has been an ESG Contributor to the TMX since 2021.
