Stephen Reford, B.A.Sc., P.Eng., obtained his undergraduate degree from the Geophysics Option of Engineering Science at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1981. He immediately joined Paterson, Grant & Watson Limited (PGW), geophysical consultants based in Toronto. He started as a junior geophysicist and eventually became President in 2016. During his career at PGW, he was involved in processing, modelling and interpretation of magnetic, radiometric, gravity, electromagnetic and IP data applied to mineral, hydrocarbon, groundwater and engineering applications. In 2025, Xcalibur Smart Mapping purchased PGW’s interpretation division and Mr. Reford was named Senior Geophysicist | Head of Smart Geophysical Interpretation, leading a global group of interpreters to apply Xcalibur’s vision of Earth Intelligence utilizing advanced data processing, modelling and AI for geophysical data integrated with geoscience data and satellite imagery.
