Elizabeth Freele

Elizabeth is a passionate mining sustainability strategist and social performance professional. Her diverse business and interpersonal skillset, honed globally over 15+ years, supports mineral resource companies across the mining lifecycle, particularly in the Americas and Africa. As Co-Founder of the Responsible Mining Academy and Sympact Advisory, she helps junior explorers to mature mid-tier producers, from the field to the boardroom globally, in developing future-fit sustainability and ESG risk management approaches. Elizabeth holds an MBA from IE Business School, a BA in Political Science and Global Development from Western University, and Certificates in Sustainable Business Strategy (Harvard Business School), Dialogue for Community Engagement (Centre for Social Response). She is GRI certified and is a TSM & CopperMark Assurance/Verification Service Provider, as well as a frequent contributor to industry conferences and media.
