Lauren Humble is Chief Operating Officer of Solvest Inc., a leader in Arctic and subarctic renewable energy integration for remote communities and mines, and President of Yukon Women in Mining. Since joining Solvest in early 2025, she has overseen the day-to-day execution that turns the company’s vision into results, bringing a values-driven approach to operations and project development that keeps sustainability and strategic diversification front and centre.
In her role with Yukon Women in Mining, Lauren is driven by gratitude to the industry that embraced her. She works to break down barriers and build safe, inclusive spaces so the next generation, whatever their background, sees mining as a modern and welcoming place to belong. For Lauren, mining isn’t only about what comes out of the ground. It’s about the community we build above it.
Before Solvest, Lauren was Executive Vice President at Cobalt Construction, where she led company-wide operations, safety and workforce management. She worked with mines across the North through every phase, from development to remediation, gaining a firsthand view of what it takes to keep camps, crews and communities safe.
Lauren calls herself an “accidental vagabond,” a title earned travelling solo and working across several continents. In 2015 she drove to the Yukon out of curiosity, planning to stay one summer. The North’s wild beauty and strong sense of community made it home. Mining wasn’t on her radar, but she found an innovative, welcoming industry that offered more than a job: it offered a career.
Her work in renewable energy reconnects her with her roots studying International Development at the University of Guelph, where she built a lasting commitment to grassroots empowerment and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
