Tom Buckle

Tom Buckle is a Senior Consultant in Data Geoscience at SRK Consulting (UK), with over six years of industry experience and more than eight years’ experience in industry-focused academic research. He specialises in applying machine learning and data-driven approaches to the interpretation and visualisation of geological data. Tom has worked across mineral exploration and mining, with experience in planning and managing large drilling programmes, lithological and structural interpretation and modelling, sample QAQC, grade control, and reconciliation. His academic research has focused on the application of data science methods to large geological datasets. As part of his PhD, Tom developed workflows to predict mineralogy, lithology, and high-grade intervals from low-cost portable X-ray fluorescence (pXRF) geochemical data for a major PGE exploration programme.
