Latin America hosts some of the world's most prospective and diverse mineral systems, where exploration success depends on adapting geological understanding, targeting strategies, and exploration approaches to contrasting terrains and deposit environments. Through case studies from Brazil, Peru, Chile, Ecuador and across the region, this session explores the key drivers of mineral discovery and project advancement, from identifying opportunities in challenging terrains and understanding atypical mineral systems to advancing discoveries toward development and long-term value. Presentations will highlight practical lessons in mineral systems, exploration targeting and vectoring, copper and precious metals exploration, project development, and the growing importance of critical minerals in supporting the global energy transition. Together, the case studies provide insights into how geological potential can be translated into successful discoveries, sustainable growth, and future mineral supply.
