Glencore Canada operates nine mines and five metal processing facilities in Canada producing and recycling critical minerals including nickel, copper, zinc, cobalt, platinum group metals and transition-enabling steelmaking coal. We employ around 12,000 people across the country, including contractors, and are Canada’s largest diversified miner and supplier of critical minerals. We are the country’s largest producer of refined copper, second largest producer of mined and smelted nickel, and second largest producer of refined zinc, as well as one of the world’s largest recyclers of end-of-life electronics, playing a critical role in the circular economy. We operate Canada’s only copper smelter, located in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, and are also Canada’s largest producer of steelmaking coal.
