Patrick Mercier-Langevin

Patrick was Project geologist with Agnico Eagle Mines from 2004 to 2006 before joining the Geological Survey of Canada as a Research scientist, where he led several major research projects on different types of gold deposits between 2006 and 2024. He joined Agnico Eagle Mines as Principal Geoscientist earlier this year, where he contributes to the development and integration of advanced geoscientific knowledge into the company's various activities. Patrick has authored or co-authored over 55 scientific papers and over 200 reports and other publications. He was awarded the GAC William Harvey Gross Medal in 2009 and Duncan R. Derry medal in 2022, the SEG Waldemar Lindgren Award in 2011, and the Quebec Mining Exploration Association Jean-Descarreaux award in 2022. Patrick has held different positions at the SEG and is currently SGA’s Vice-President.
