Rebecca Hunter (Ph.D., P.Geo.) has almost 20 years’ experience as a geologist working in Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Nunavut. Dr. Hunter worked for Cameco as an exploration geologist from 2005 to 2016 and later as an independent geological consultant from 2017 to 2019. At Cameco, Dr. Hunter led the Turqavik-Aberdeen exploration project, in Nunavut, which discovered the Tatiggaq and Qavvik uranium deposits, the first major zones of new uranium mineralization to be discovered in the Thelon Basin since the 1990s. Concurrent to her geological career, Dr. Hunter completed her Ph.D. degree in 2021 at Laurentian University, which focused on the structural geology and uranium metallogenesis of the northeast Thelon Basin. Prior to joining Forum Energy Metals in 2022, Dr. Hunter spent 3 years as a Senior Minerals Geologist with the British Columbia Geological Survey investigating the stratigraphy and structure of VMS, epithermal, and Cu porphyry mineral deposit systems in the Golden Triangle, northwest British Columbia. Dr. Hunter is currently the VP Exploration for Forum Energy Metals and manages a varied portfolio primarily of uranium exploration projects, as well as a few projects focused on copper, nickel, and PGEs in Saskatchewan and Nunavut.
