Tania Martins
Tânia Martins is the Chief Geologist for the Precambrian section at the Manitoba Geological Survey, Winnipeg, Canada. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Saskatchewan and University of New Brunswick. In 2009, she received her PhD in Geology from the University of Porto, Portugal, focused on the Li-Ta-Sn mineralization of pegmatites from the Barroso-Alvão pegmatite field. Tânia was a post doctoral fellow at the University of Manitoba working on mineralogy of alkaline systems with Anton Chakhmouradian before joining the Manitoba Geological Survey in 2011. Her research interests are in Li-Cs-Sn-Nb-Ta mineralization in granitic pegmatites, critical mineral systems, and how these fit in the tectonic evolution of the Precambrian terrains in Manitoba.
