In today’s mining landscape, sustainability is defined not only by technical reports and compliance frameworks, but also by the voices that shape how geology, exploration, mining and Indigenous practices are understood by wider audiences. A new generation of mining influencers (geoscientists, educators, adventurers, and purpose-driven advocates) are bringing the stories of rocks, resources, and responsibility to life in creative ways. By translating complex science and ESG issues into accessible narratives, they are changing how investors, communities, and the public engage with exploration and mining. This panel features Cate Larsen (Groovy Geologist), Dr. Haydon Mort (Geologize), Justin Daley (Justin_the.Geo), Shawna Lee Enair Fox (Wild North Adventure TV), and Elizabeth Freele (Responsible Mining Academy). Together, they will explore how digital platforms are amplifying geology and exploration stories, elevating Indigenous perspectives, and highlighting sustainability challenges and successes. Panelists will also reflect on the risks of misinformation and the responsibility that comes with influence. Attendees will leave with practical insights on how companies and professionals can work with influential voices to strengthen transparency, build community trust, and share their sustainability commitments with integrity.
