Mary Ann Mihychuk

MaryAnn Mihychuk holds a B.Sc. (Hons) from the University of Winnipeg and an M.Sc. in Geology from Brock University (1984). With a career spanning over 48 years, she has built a distinguished track record in both the mineral sector and public service. 

 Her geoscience career began in the field, working across Manitoba, Ontario, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Over the years, she has held roles as a project manager, co-author of a NI 43-101 report, mineral policy specialist, public company vice president, board director, and chair. 

 MaryAnn has been an active member of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) since 2004. She served as PDAC’s Director of Regulatory Affairs, a Board Member and committee volunteer. During this time, she founded Women in Mining Canada

 A dedicated advocate for Canada’s exploration and extraction sector, MaryAnn has led national and provincial lobbying efforts, engaging directly with policymakers. Since 2020, she has served as President of the Manitoba Prospectors and Developers Association (MPDA), spearheading its growth and partnerships with Indigenous communities. 

 Currently, MaryAnn is Chairman of the Board at Gossan Resources. Her commitment to education and capacity building includes developing MPDA short courses (2020–2025), the weekly radio program “Rock Circle” (2010), and founding the Manitoba Mineral Reconciliation Gala (2020–2025), which honours best practices and promotes training and leadership opportunities for First Nations. She has also championed the reinstatement of Minerals and Mining Week in Manitoba.
