John Dilles
John was born California and earned degrees in geology from Caltech (BS 1975, MS 1976) and Stanford University (PhD 1984). He has worked as an exploration geologist for Hunt, Ware & Proffett, and operated small gold mines with his brother Peter. He joined the faculty of the Oregon State University in 1986, where he is currently Emeritus Professor of Geology in the College of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences.
