Valerie Wilson
Technical Director APAC; Resource Geologist,
SLR Consulting
Perth,
Australia
I am the Technical Director of the Mining Advisory group in Australia. I moved from Toronto, Canada to Perth, Australia to help grow the Mining Advisory group and build bridges with our existing technical teams in Canada, UK, USA, Chile, and South Africa.
My work at SLR includes team supervision and mentorship, in addition to carrying out various technical assignments related to Mineral Resources, which vary but span modelling, estimation, audit, and due diligence work for epithermal, lode, and carlin-type gold systems, polymetallic VMS, iron ore (taconite, hematite), nickel sulphide, and copper porphyry type deposits.
I have been a short course instructor in Mineral Resource estimation for AME, PDAC, and the PGO, as well as have given internal training to companies. I co-chair the PDAC Convention Planning Committee and am a PDAC board member.
