Dr. David Zhen Yin is the Program Director and Co-Founder of Mineral-X, Stanford University's leading industrial research program on AI-powered critical mineral exploration and sustainable resource supply. David’s research pioneered technology advancements in data science and AI for critical mineral supply. His work has also been instrumental in addressing industrial mineral exploration challenges, including the discovery of one of the world’s largest copper deposits. He has authored an award-winning book and tens of journal articles on these topics in peer-reviewed journals. David also serves on the US National Academies Committee on optimizing the U.S. Geological Survey’s Mineral Resources Program since 2024.
