Sheila is the Vice President, Legal and Sustainability and the Corporate Secretary of Lundin Gold Inc., the owner of the world class Fruta del Norte gold mine in Ecuador. Sheila is part of the original team at Lundin Gold that acquired, financed and built Fruta del Norte. Sheila has executive oversight responsibilities for legal, governance, compliance and sustainability matters for Lundin Gold. She leads Lundin Gold’s climate change and human rights strategies and has overall responsibility for the Company’s sustainability strategy. Prior to joining Lundin Gold in 2014, Sheila worked in the uranium sector, as Vice President, Legal at Denison Mines Corp. She is currently a director on the Board of Lucara Diamond Corp., a Canadian diamond mining company with a producing mine in Botswana. She serves as Chair of the ESG Committee on that Board. With over 20 years in the mining sector, Sheila is deeply committed to good governance, environmental and social responsibility. She believes that sustainable mining practices go beyond regulatory requirements and are essential components of a business model that has the power to create lasting positive impact for stakeholders.
