Session Details
Simply put, investor relations (IR) is a strategic function focused on communicating information about a company to its investors. In practice, however, IR is anything but simple.
IR integrates finance, communication, marketing, and securities law to give an accurate account of the company’s affairs so that investors (and other stakeholders) can make informed decisions about investing in a company. In addition, investor relations for the resource sector in particular requires a keen understanding of the industry, familiarity with technical terms, and an appreciation of the different stages of the mining life cycle. Knowing how to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences is also vital.
This course will focus on how to build, manage, and sustain investor and stakeholder engagement. We’ll cover how to manage and target shareholders, maximize your digital tools, and collaborate with legal counsel. You’ll learn a pragmatic, adaptable, affordable strategy for effectively communicating major corporate developments like a major discovery, purchase/sale of an asset, merger, or takeover. Finally, we’ll layer in an enhanced appreciation for AI’s evolving impact on investor/stakeholder communications.
