Recognized leader for cutting-edge expertise in social acceptability and community relations, Marc-Olivier Fortin brings over 10 years of experience at the intersection of industrial, political, and economic sectors. A graduate in Economics from McGill University and holder of a Master’s degree in Strategy from HEC Montréal, Marc-Olivier combines analytical rigor, strategic insight, and a solid understanding of on-the-ground realities. As Director of Partnership Development at Transfert Environnement et Société, he also serves as Project Director. In these roles, he supports numerous stakeholders in the mining and industrial sectors in deploying strategies that foster social acceptability and community dialogue. He oversees major strategic mandates for leading mining companies, including international projects. His extensive background has enabled him to develop a deep understanding of Canada’s territorial and social acceptability issues, the mining ecosystem, social dynamics at play, and their impacts on Canada’s economic development. Marc-Olivier’s expertise in public affairs and government relations is regularly sought by the media. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Saguenay–Le Fjord Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
