Rahul Arora is an experienced leader working at the intersection of mining and finance, with over 15 years of expertise in sustainability, ESG, and climate change. Based in Toronto, he serves as ERM’s Global Co-Lead for ESG & Sustainability Strategy, advising C-suite executives, boards, and investors on integrating sustainability into business practices, financial decisions, and regulatory compliance. Rahul’s experience spans across climate and nature-integrated strategies, financed emissions, sustainability strategy, ESG ratings and rankings, IPO preparedness, and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). He also plays a significant role in the development of disclosures aligned to Canadian Sustainability Disclosure Standards (CSDS) and decarbonization roadmaps. Rahul has helped mining companies navigate complex regulatory landscapes, enhancing their ESG disclosures, materiality assessments, and green bond structures. His strategic advice has been instrumental in securing MSCI “A” ratings for IPO preparedness, evaluating reports for greenwashing risks (Bill C-59), and strengthening GHG disclosures. Through these initiatives, Rahul enables companies to position themselves as ESG leaders and attract investment from sustainability-focused stakeholders. As a trusted advisor to C-suite leaders, Rahul has led the design and implementation of sustainability strategies and ESG frameworks that drive both financial and environmental impact. He has extensive experience working with mining companies to ensure their strategies align with global regulations and stakeholder expectations. Rahul is also a speaker and visiting faculty at Canadian universities and has been recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice for Corporate Sustainability. His thought leadership contributions include the Global Regulations Radar, a report published by the ERM Sustainability Institute in February 2025, which provides insights into ESG and EHS regulations impacting global businesses.
